This Trail Toilet Has a Breathtaking View—Here’s the Weird Catch

Gwyn and Ami Manser may have found the public trail toilet with the most beautiful view in the world. But there’s a catch—a rather weird catch. While you do have to hike to this trail toilet and the others like it, which line the Enchantments Traverse hike near Leavenworth, Washington, the hike to get there isn’t the catch.

The catch is that while you use these pit toilets spaced along the trail, you’ll most likely have an audience. The Mansers shared a video on Instagram showing off one particular trail toilet’s gorgeous view and revealing what’ll be watching you as you do your business there.

“You have to be prepared to ‘go’ with an audience . . . Of GOATS!” the Mansers write in the video caption. “The mountain goats in the Enchantments hang out around the toilets because they’re attracted to the salts in human pee! They’ll also come up to hikers going to the bathroom elsewhere along the trail, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself with a ‘bathroom buddy’ (or two!).”

That’s right, mountain goats are, apparently, weirdly interested in human pee.

Check out this toilet with a view, where you’re also part of the view (for the goats) here:
