Kid Slams Into Sloth on Zipline, Asks ‘Do We Just Wait?’

When a 13-year-old boy started down a zipline in Costa Rica, the last thing he expected was to “clock” a sloth straight in the face. But that’s what happened, and the person behind him caught the whole thing on video. How long do you think the zipliners had to wait for the sloth to get out of the way?

Nick Raymer, the boy’s dad, posted the video of his son running into a sloth on a zipline to TikTok after the fateful event back in 2022. Nearly 2 million people have viewed the video on that platform alone.

In the clip, you see young Nathan Raymer leaving the platform with a person who we assume is a guide on the line shortly behind him, filming Nathan as they go. Not too long after he leaves the platform, Raymer collides with something brown and fuzzy hanging on the line. It’s a sloth.

“I just clocked it straight in the face!” Raymer exclaims, stunned.

The pair work out their shock, then start to wonder what’s next.

“What do we do about the sloth?” Raymer asks.

“Don’t worry, don’t worry,” the guide says.

They watch the sloth, which appears to be just fine, and laugh.

“Do we just wait?” Raymer asks a moment later.

“We just wait,” the guide replies.

Inside Edition reported that the sloth hung out on the line for 15 minutes before the pair could pass through.
