Eftimova was hiking and scrambling up Tryfan on February 22 when she slipped and fell over 60 feet to her death. She was no novice to these types of adventures. Eftimova’s social-media profile shows she frequently climbed mountains and practiced rock climbing. In fact, before her accident, she had recently completely an ice-climbing course in Norway.

Kade Alford was among those who posted a tribute to the late Maria Eftimova on social media. Alford called Eftimova “an amazing human” with “an infectious smile and positive energy.” Alford was among the group that went ice climbing in Norway several weeks before Eftimova’s untimely death.
