According to the Chequamegon Humane Association, a couple spotted the unfortunate bear last week on Route 27 south of Lake Road, and it was moving “sluggishly.” Local news suggests others have also spotted the bear, but officials are saying the public should not approach the animal if they see it. Meanwhile, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is searching for the bear in hopes they can help it get free.
