Well, welcome to fall—or, is it winter? Less than 24 hours after the official start to fall in the northern hemisphere, a blanket of snow had fallen in high-elevation areas of Rocky Mountain National Park, making it look like a winter wonderland . . . in September.
“It is currently snowing in the high elevation areas of Rocky Mountain National Park,” the park wrote in an Instagram post earlier this week. “Snow started to fall at Alpine Visitor Center around 5 p.m. last night and it is still snowing in areas above 10,000 feet in elevation.”

A slew of concerned comments made it clear that folks with plans to visit the park this week were not thrilled about the snowy conditions. Others note that temperatures are still in the 90s other places in the country.
