Rock Slide Wrecks Overlanding Truck on Drive to Yosemite

An overlander in a trusty Toyota Tacoma had a brush with disaster recently. A rock slide, starring a 1,500-pound boulder, hit the overlanding truck on its way to Yosemite National Park. No one was hurt, thankfully, but the truck didn’t fare so well.

“A scary situation unfolded during my journey to Yosemite today. A rock slide, which included a massive 1500-pound boulder [hit] my truck,” wrote @tacomaoverlanders in an Instagram post sharing photos of the damage (and the boulder). “While I am saddened by the loss of my trusty Tacoma that has so many amazing memories and been a part of countless adventures, I am thankful to have avoided a potentially tragic outcome.”

The overlanding community expressed shock and relief in the comments section, saying they can’t believe this happened and they’re glad no one got hurt (besides the rig).

“Wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy, glad you’re alright,” wrote one fan.

“Glad you are okay. Hope you can get back on the trails soon!!” wrote another.
