Insane Trail-Cam Photos Show a Bald Eagle Fighting a Coyote

The online community is expressing shock at the sheer size and audacity of a bald eagle that fought off at least one coyote in front of a trail cam in Washington. Craig Dunn‘s trail camera caught the bald eagle vs. coyote showdown, and Dunn posted the photo series to the Pacific Northwest Birding Facebook group last week, attracting over 30,000 likes.

Dunn says the eagle and the coyote(s) were fighting over a fawn carcass. The bald eagle wanted the road kill to feed its youngling. He says the action went down near the Kettle River in Ferry County, Washington.

“Last month, a fawn died on the road and attracted some visitors,” Dunn wrote in his post. “I tend to forget just how large bald eagles get. The canines look young; the eagle had a youngling in the nest to feed.”
