‘Historic Day’ Brings ‘Weird, But Beautiful’ Snow to Florida Beach

This week brought a “historic day” to Pensacola, Florida—there was snow on the beach. People who live and/or grew up in Florida seemed to be a bit in shock by it. The area’s tourist office, Visit Pensacola, shared a video of the snowy scene on Instagram. The video is set to Taylor Swift’s track “Snow on the Beach,” which features Lana Del Rey. One of the lyrics says: “And it’s like snow at the beach / Weird, but it was beautiful.”

Visit Pensacola played off these lyrics in its social-media post, writing: “A historic day for Pensacola! We can confirm that snow on the beach is weird, but beautiful.”

The comments section is full of people who can’t quite believe what they’re seeing.

“I grew up here and I can’t believe this,” wrote one person on Instagram.

“And here I thought I couldn’t love Pensacola beach any more than I already do. White snow with that turquoise water! Wow, just wow,” wrote another.

“snow + ocean + sand = weather is WEIRDDDD,” another person commented.
