A viral video shows the moments before, during, and after a large freshwater fish (a sturgeon) bites a performer’s head as she was pretending to be a mermaid swimming around in an aquarium in China. The woman, who the New York Post identifies as a Russian performer named Masha, seems to be OK, although it looks like she lost her goggles to the massive fish.

Spectators at the aquarium within China’s Xishuangbannan Primitive Forest Park looked on in shock as the fish very suddenly struck, enveloping the woman’s head in its mouth. The woman fought back, and the sturgeon let her go. She then quickly swam to safety.
