The Mangrove Boardwalk near Darwin, Australia in the Northern Territory is a unique attraction for outdoor lovers. Visitors can walk along the raised aluminum walkway through a mangrove forest, which is a known croc habitat. But here’s the catch—at times, the water level is so high that you’re literally wading through the mangrove forest (you know, where not only crocodiles but also snakes and jellyfish live).
A popular video on Instagram shows a woman wading through waist-deep water, and people are quick to point out that if a croc wanted to, it could easily join her on the submerged boardwalk. The woman is with her partner, and the couple takes turns filming each other as they walk/wade on the boardwalk.

Ordinarily, the boardwalk is above the water and, at high tide, just “inches above the water.” However, when this couple went, it was submerged. And they weren’t the only ones who were willing to risk seeing a croc on the Mangrove Boardwalk that day.
“Would you do this . . .?” asked Bryce Connole and Chelsea Wood in the Instagram post sharing the video. “7.4m high tide at the Mangrove Boardwalk, East Point Darwin.”
