Brighten Your Day by Watching Some Mountain Lion Kittens Play

The Center for Biological Diversity shared some adorable footage of two mountain lion kittens playing in front of a trail cam. The fuzzy little babies with bright blue eyes wrestle, sniff at the camera, tumble around, and explore as mom rests nearby in central California. The Center for Biological Diversity points out that the purring you hear in the YouTube video is actually the kittens’ mom.

“Did you know mountain lions are more related to housecats than lions?” asks the nonprofit organization in its YouTube caption. “It’s true! But their lives aren’t nearly as easy — especially in the urban wildlands of Central California, where cityscape meets a wilderness fragmented by freeways and development. These puma kittens act just like housecat kittens.”

The center credits the trail-cam footage to the National Park Service.
