Bobcat vs. Shark and Other Wildlife Stories That Are 100% Real

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) isn’t fooling anyone on April Fools’ Day this year. USFWS posted a series of wildlife stories that seem like they’d be fake, but they’re 100% real. For instance, a bobcat vs. a shark? It happened. Frogcicle? Real thing.

“These wildlife stories all sound fake, but they’re totally true. We’re not April Foolsing this year,” USFWS wrote in an Instagram post sharing several photos of hard-to-believe wildlife stories. “YES, the bobcat vs shark is real! A visitor to the Sebastian Inlet State Park in Florida witnessed this scene unfold in 2015. The visitor watched as the bobcat dashed into the water and pulled the shark ashore. He was lucky enough to snap an image before the wild cat ran off into the nearby woods. Hunting fish, let alone sharks, is not a common bobcat behavior, which makes this jaw-dropping moment all the more remarkable.”

Other examples of nearly unbelievable stories include coyotes and badgers teaming up to hunt together (yep, real), and wood frogs freezing solid in the winter (also real). Sometimes fact is just as much fun as fiction!
