A wild scene on a golf course in Arizona makes for a great viral video. The Golf on CBS Instagram account shared a video taken by a golfer who wrote: “How am I supposed to putt with this going on?” The golf-course footage shows a bobcat expertly hunting wild rabbits as they graze on the green.
Arizona Game and Fish says bobcats are common throughout Arizona at all elevations, especially in the Sonoran Desert, rimrock, and chaparral areas. They also tend to live just outside densely populated urban areas where they can find plenty of food. Bobcats eat not only rabbits but also birds, rodents, small livestock, and small unattended pets, including poultry or other domestic birds.

Although bobcats are usually most active around sunset and sunrise, the one in the viral video is out in the middle of the day, sharing the golf course with golfers. It uses stealth to sneak up on the rabbits, since it has nothing to hide behind. It nabs one of the rabbits, and the golfers can’t believe what they’ve just seen.
