Ever wonder how bears get into homes? Well, in some cases, it’s really quite simple. They just open the door. The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Southwest (CPW SW) Region recently shared a video taken from a resident’s security camera showing a black bear opening the door and walking into a home near Telluride.
CPW SW Region shared a 30-second clip of the intrusion on X, showing a bear walking straight up to the door, reaching up and pulling on the handle, and entering. It’s almost like the bear had already learned exactly how to do this . . .

“Bears are capable of opening doors,” warns CPW SW Region in its X post sharing the video. “And once they’ve learned that, it can lead to a lot of conflict.”
