One Michigan woman’s backyard chickens became the “poultry patrol” when a bear came onto the property, and the chickens decided to chase it away. The chicken gang ran right up to the large black bear, sending it running in the direction it came. The video is quite funny.
“Check out these chickens (Jessica Hank’s hens and video) chasing away a bear from their backyard! Powerful Poultry Patrol!” wrote Harmony Mobile Veterinary Clinic in a Facebook post sharing the footage, which over 3 million people have viewed.

Many comments imply folks’ complete shock that chickens would chase a bear (and manage to do it successfully).
“I think i have to quit the drugs. I swear I [see] chicken[s] chase away a bear,” wrote one person in the top-liked comment.
“Gangster hens taken care of business!” wrote another person.
Other people say they aren’t surprised.
“My chickens did that before. Ran a bear off. Ran it up a tree,” wrote one commenter. “I used to have pictures of my chickens standing on the [bear’s] back. It used to come in almost daily to steal their food. And eventually the chickens got used to it and just shared their food. It never hurt any of them it just ate their food lol.”
