Skateboarder Ignores Bull Elk—People Get Pissed, Elk Approves?

A bull elk standing just on the other side of a quarter pipe at an outdoor skate park deterred most skaters from using the area . . . but not this guy. One skateboarder decided to throw what looked to be an Indy grab on the quarter pipe just feet from a large bull elk.

More than 3.8 million people have viewed the footage of the skateboarder and the bull elk posted by Jakub Thomas. In the background of the video, people shriek as the skater approaches the animal and then performs his trick.

What the bull elk did next has people in the video’s comments section in a tizzy. The animal appears to give the skater a quick bow or nod of approval, but many people are saying it’s really just squaring off for a fight.

“Just got nod of approval,” wrote one person in the comments section.

“People think it’s respect, it’s the elk letting him know to back off,” wrote another.

Was this skater out of line to ignore the bull elk’s presence?
