One woman’s “yard” in Canada is pretty much a wildlife wonderland, where interesting things apparently happen every day. Recently, she captured footage of wolves fishing for salmon in the river, and it’s quite fun to watch.
Noreen Vance McLean, who goes by tahltanollie on TikTok, is the woman who gets to enjoy these National Geographic moments on the regular, and she frequently shares wildlife videos on social media. The video of the wolves fishing for salmon has more than 2.5 million views on TikTok.

The Instagram account for Women for Wolves, a nonprofit organization, shared McLean’s video, asking their community: “Have you ever seen wolves fish for salmon?”
“In British Columbia, salmon make up a major part of coastal wolves’ diet,” wrote Women for Wolves in the post. “Unlike most wolves who hunt deer or elk, many BC wolves have adapted more aquatic based diets: fishing, hunting in tide pools, and catching salmon during spawning season.”
Women for Wolves even claims that salmon-eating wolves smell faintly fishy. Since they get such a high percentage of their diet from the river, it makes sense!
