Video of Black Bears Fighting Displays Raw Power

Taylor Thomas Albright captured the moment a black bear aggressively went after a second black bear in Alaska, and the two bears began fighting. The bears fought in a stream as Albright and several other people watched from a vantage point somewhere above the animals.

Albright observed that one of the bears seems to have been taken aback when the other launched the attack.

“He almost appeared to be blindsided. You’re never really sure what provoked such an aggressive move,” Albright wrote in his Instagram post sharing the footage. “After watching this a few times, beyond the initial tackle and bite, It looks like the bear on the bottom actually holds his own. Situations like this begin and end before you know it. A very unexpected moment.”

Considering all the teeth and claws involved, the bears don’t appear to be doing a ton of damage. People in the comments section note that this is a good reminder of black bears’ raw power.

“This is wild,” wrote one person.

“So much raw power, amazing to witness! Well done,” added another.
