Young Climber Fell From El Capitan While Live Streaming

Balin Miller, a 23-year-old climber, has died after falling from El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, and fans had to watch it happen, because he was live streaming. Miller had reportedly completed the climb up the Sea of Dreams route on El Cap when the gear bag he was hauling became stuck, and Miller fell while rappelling down to free it. Details of the incident are still under investigation.

Miller’s mom, Jeanine Girard-Moorman, took to social media to share a heart-breaking tribute to her son.

“It is with a heavy heart I have to tell you my incredible son Balin Miller died during a climbing accident today,” Girard-Moorman wrote on Facebook. “My heart is chattered in a million pieces. I don’t know how I will get through this.”

One woman commented on a post from KTLA 5 News sharing the news saying she watched the tragic incident happen live on TikTok.

“Saw the fall on a TT live; rest in peace Balin,” she wrote. “He lived his life to the fullest at a young age pray for his mother and family.”

Several others on Reddit claim to have seen the same thing.
