Man Narrowly Avoids Bear on Deadly Rampage in Russia

Russian news media reports that a wild brown bear attacked three people in close succession in Russia last week, and one of the victims died. Video footage showing the first of the three attacks has gone viral. In the video from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, a large bear stalks a man walking out to his car, but the man is able to leap inside his vehicle just in time. He slams the bear’s paw in the car door in his attempt to escape.

Later that day, the same bear attacked a 12-year-old boy. Thankfully, the boy survived by playing dead. However, the bear’s third victim wasn’t so lucky. When the animal attacked an 84-year-old woman, she died of her injuries.
