Woman Summiting Mt. Fuji at 2 AM Gets Stuck in Massive Line

Apparently, Thera Sze wasn’t the only person who decided to go for the summit push at Mt. Fuji at 2 AM. Her video of a mind-bogglingly long line of Mt. Fuji hikers trying to summit Japan’s highest peak has nearly 10 million views.

“one hour hike turned into two hours due to the traffic from hut to top,” wrote Sze in her Instagram post sharing the footage.

Sze completed the full Fuji hike in about 24 hours. She chose to sleep in a hut on the mountain and summit early in the morning. However, this was a popular plan among others as well, and she hit a traffic jam between the hut and the summit.

Many people note that waiting in a line to summit a mountain feels so wrong.

“Being stuck in line on a mountain is embarrassing,” wrote one person in the comments section.

However, Sze appears to have had an overall good experience climbing the 3,776-meter (12,389-foot) peak. She enjoyed a nice sunrise near the summit and participated in some cultural experiences as she climbed the mountain.
