Mud-Covered Man in Speedo Flees Hot Springs (and Police)

A Colorado man was relaxing in a mud bath at Indian Hot Springs when, suddenly, police showed up. Turns out, the man was a suspect in a credit-card fraud case. After getting out of the mud bath, the mud-covered, Speedo-clad man began running from the cops. A body camera caught the whole absurd scene on video.

Indian Hot Springs is a hot-springs resort in Idaho Springs, Colorado. In his attempt to get away, the man ran “up the side of a mountain” and “hid in a shed.” Ultimately, police took the man into custody.

“On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, an Idaho Springs Police officer was conducting a follow-up investigation for an alleged credit card fraud case at the Indian Hot Springs,” wrote the Idaho Springs Police Department. “The suspect, 33-year-old, Alec Bogus, of Aurora, Colorado, was contacted as he was getting out of a mud bath at the hot springs wearing only a swimming suit. [. . . ] Mr. Bogus became uncooperative and was able to flee from the officers, running up the side of a mountain to the east of the hot springs.”
