Couple Takes 3 Business Days to Notice Approaching Bear (Video)

A video circulating online shows a bear walking through a field that, moments before, was full of people. As the bear enters the field, however, most people (almost all of them) quickly get up and move out of the bear’s way. The glaring exception is a couple that appears to be lost in their own little world. In fact, they are the ones the bear is most interested in, and as the bear walks up to them, people shout, trying to get their attention. Three business days later, the couple finally notices the approaching bear, and they move.

Text overlaid on the video suggests the footage is from the Burnaby Mountain area in British Columbia, Canada. Once you watch the scene play out, you’ll probably join everyone else in wondering—why isn’t anyone shouting “bear!”?
