Paddle Boarder Stuck in Massive Arizona Dust Storm

An enjoyable paddle on an Arizona lake turned into a nightmare for a paddle boarder when a massive dust storm rolled in. Pam, who goes by pame_luxxx on TikTok, shared a video of her calling 9-1-1 from her paddle board. As she’s on the phone, waves toss her around and the sky becomes blackened by an intense wall of dust, sometimes colloquially called a “haboob.”

Pam and her paddle partner manage to get to shore safely (we’re not sure how it went down after the video), but the moment clearly stuck with her.

“I was genuinely SCARED FOR MY LIFE,” she wrote in her TikTok caption sharing the footage. The video, set to the trending “Jet2 Holiday” audio, has attracted over 14.2 million views since Pam posted it two days ago.

Pam doesn’t include any location information in her viral TikTok post. However, based on her other posts, she’s a paddle-board enthusiast who frequents Lake Pleasant, which is north of Phoenix. It’s possible that’s where she was on this fateful day. Many people in the comments section chime in saying she and her partner should have been wearing life jackets.
