Diver Shares Dreamy Video, ‘Like Something From a Documentary’

Every once in a while, humans are in the right place at the right time to capture surreal moments in nature. A group of divers recently got so lucky. While diving off the coast of Bonaire, an island in the southern Caribbean, a guided group witnessed a gorgeous sight—a sea turtle swimming into a large bait ball (a large swarm of fish). One diver caught footage of the scene.

“Lucky divers got to witness a turtle casually swimming right into a baitball—like something out of a documentary!” wrote PADI in its Facebook post sharing the footage. The video credit goes to Sijbrand van ‘t Oever, a dive master working in Bonaire.

Oever shares incredible underwater videos on his Instagram account, but something about this video really struck a chord, attracting almost 400,000 views. In a post sharing a similar video, he wrote that this is “nature’s underwater ballet at its finest.”

The silvery fish moving in unison, combined with the cobalt-blue water and the serenely swimming sea turtle certainly make it hard to look away. In fact, the footage is almost mesmerizing.
