Hikers Encounter Rare Puma in Costa Rica Forest

A group of hikers crossed paths with a puma in Corcovado National Park in Costa Rica, and the footage they captured is pretty wild. Danny McGee recently posted a video of his group’s encounter on Instagram, even though it happened last year.

“I grew up in Colorado and Mountain lions are pretty much the scariest thing you can see when you’re out hiking,” wrote Danny McGee in his Instagram post sharing the video. “I definitely did not expect to see one when exploring Costa Rica. Luckily this one wasn’t aggressive (or hungry) and just walked past us and then off into the forest. We got incredibly lucky as our guide said he’d been to the park thousands of times and only seen a puma on 7 of those.”
