It’s not every day you see a cormorant vs. an eel underwater. A self-described “shark hugger” who goes by Tanyaaarrr on Instagram caught this Nat-Geo-worthy battle on camera while diving at Blue Heron Bridge, a popular dive site in Palm Beach County, Florida.
Tanyaaarrr says the video is a few years old, but she found it in her archives and wanted to share it with her community. It definitely struck a chord, garnering nearly 80,000 likes.
“I watched this corm dive multiple times hunting for his next meal,” she wrote in her Instagram post sharing the underwater GoPro footage. The cormorant catches the eel and drags it up the surface where the battle continues. What do you think happens next? Which animal ends up victorious?
