Two YouTubers were excited to go out on a snorkel tour and potentially swim with whales off the Gold Coast of Australia. They were hoping to get “some good visuals.” Then, a whale threw a man into the air on their tour, and they got the whole thing on film. Needless to say, they scored some really good visuals.
Max Persyn and Jacqueline Payne (Max and Jacqueline) were two of the guests on the Aqua Adventures tour that got real exciting real fast. While several snorkelers were in the water watching three humpback whales swimming around them, one whale lifted the Aqua Adventures guide up out of the water.
A split second before it happens, someone yells from the boat “watch your back!” And someone in the water lets out a scream as the guide flies into the air.
“Holy sh*t! Back in the boat, back in the boat,” a staff member then calls out to the group.
After everyone’s back on board, the guide high fives everyone. He seems to have enjoyed the ride of his life. Max and Jacqueline theorize that the rope the guests were hanging onto touched the whale’s tail, causing it to flick up at the unfamiliar touch.
“There just happened to be human above him,” the pair wrote in their YouTube caption.

Thankfully, the whale didn’t injure the guide.
