This Bear May Look Like a Demon, But It Just Wants Cookies

A Claremont, California man was baking cookies one evening last weekend when a huge black bear broke into his house—presumably because it wanted some cookies (or, at least, food). The animal made a mess getting into the home, according to KCAL News, but it left without causing any serious trouble.

Bears who’ve had a taste of human food often come back for more. We’ve seen reports of bears breaking into homes and going straight for the kitchen or finding a refrigerator in the garage. Maybe this bear got a whiff of baked goods and the smell lured it from the forest into a residential area.

KCAL News shared footage of the bear perched on the homeowner’s fence (presumably after the break in). The bear’s reflective eyes appear red in the video, making it look a demon. Thankfully, the bear didn’t show any aggression toward humans before it left for the woods.
