A viral video of a tent blowing away in Washington just keeps circulating online. Each time, there is a new funny caption, and we don’t blame the internet community for obsessing over this one. In case you’ve ever wondered if you could skip the step where you stake down your camping tent, let this be your warning. Don’t do it.
Though she has since removed the viral video from her TikTok profile, the camper in question was TikTok user @katiebugg34. She and her partner thought they have a relaxing camping trip in nature, but their REI tent had other plans. A gust of wind carried their tent away, and it sailed through the air, looking like a UFO.
In the video, you can hear a male voice providing commentary as he films the couple’s flying tent. “It might come back,” he says at one point, though he seems unsure even as he says it.

Though the original video isn’t on her profile anymore, @katiebugg34 did share an update after the debacle. REI sent her a care package and a gift card to buy a new tent!
