Biologists telling jokes—it’s like dad jokes, but niche. Yesterday, for International Tell a Joke Day, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) teamed up with some of its agencies around the U.S. to bring you some of the very best (or maybe very worst?) biology-themed jokes. They might make you chuckle. They might make you roll your eyes. Either way, they will bring a smile to your face.
“It’s no joke that our agencies work well together on important conservation issues,” USFWS says in an Instagram post. “Even when it’s National Tell A Joke Day. These folks may spend a lot of their time with wildlife, but we need you to know that biologists have the best sense of humor.”
In the video, biologists from @texasparkswildlife, @myodfw, @iowadnr, @mefishwildlife, and @usfws tell jokes like: “What did the biologist say to the Texas tortoise? You’re so spe-shell.” It’s all in the delivery, as the biologist grins from ear to ear, you can’t help but smile too.
