Coyote Plays With Dog Toys, Just Wants to Be Part of the Family

A coyote has been hanging around a Yorba Linda, California neighborhood, at times watching a golden retriever and her humans play with dog toys in one particular backyard. The other night, the coyote decided it was time to give it try. Those toys looked fun, after all. The homeowners caught the coyote’s play time on a home security camera.

In an interview with local news, Roger and Susan Cossaboom say when they noticed the coyote in their backyard, the two of them, along with their dog Clover, watched the coyote in shock. The Cossabooms believe the coyote must have learned what to do with the toys by watching Clover.

They said the coyote was acting just like a puppy, tossing toys and leaping around. When Susan Cossaboom called animal control to tell them what happened, she says they hadn’t heard of coyote playing with dog toys the way this one was.
