90-year-old Henry Miles hikes the Y Mountain Trail in Provo, Utah several times a week. Miles recently celebrated his birthday on the trail, and his family and friends showed up to surprise him and cheer him on. Miles says he’s hiked this particular trail around 4,000 times, but he doesn’t tire of it.
“This is a nice hike,” Miles told local news in an interview on his birthday. “I have done it 35 times this year.”
When Miles showed up for his morning hike on his birthday a couple of weeks ago, he found a group of friendly faces waiting for him. They had arrived early to set up signs and balloons at the trailhead and along the 2.2-mile trail.

Miles was all smiles as he trekked up the steep trail to the summit and back. Since he’s there so often, Miles is a bit of a local celebrity. As the news cameras were rolling on his birthday hike, several people stopped and asked to take a picture with him as he hiked.
